Tigran Matinyan, tenor

Born in Moscow, Tigran studied vocal in Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory Academic Music College and later pursued his studies in Gnessin Russian Academy of Music (Moscow). He graduated in Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory under the tutelage of Prof. Aleksey Martynov.

Tigran has appeared as guest soloist in numerous works such as Vespers of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Orfeo by Monteverdi; Messiah and Acis and Galatea by Handel; Christmas Oratorio, St. John Passion, St. Matthew Passion, Magnificat by J. S. Bach; Requiem and Coronation Mass by Mozart; Petite messe solennelle by Rossini and Oberon by Weber. He performed with Residens Orcestra, New Russia (the State Symphony Orchestra), Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian Philharmonic (Moscow Symphony Orchestra), "Musika Viva" and "Pratum Integrum". He also worked with world renowned directors and conductors such as Antony Hermus, Charles Toet, Peter van Heygen, Ton Koopman, Peter Neumann, Peter Philips, Andrew Lawrence-King, Aleksandr Rudin, Vladimir Minin.

Tigran is currently doing a Master of Early Music Vocal program at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague under guidance of Michael Chance, Peter Kooij, Pascal Bertin and Gerda van Zelm.. He lives and works as a freelancer in the Netherlands.
